About

Hey there 👋🏻 My name is Filip, I was born in 1986 in Wrocław, where I currently live. For over 10 years, I lived across the western border, in Berlin, but I recently returned. I studied Polish philology at the University of Wrocław, which I didn't eventually graduate from, where I met my wife, Katie. We have two kids: a 11-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son.

By trade I'm a SysAdmin—or Infra Engineer, or DevOps, or whatever the industry's renaming it this year. Linux since 2002, Debian by preference, and just as at home on the stuff most people won't touch: AIX on POWER, Solaris on SPARC, Veritas HA/storage, FreeBSD, illumos. “My job is my hobby,” which sounds great until you notice I'm always surrounded by computers—but I genuinely love this, UNIX most of all (the blogs above will confirm).

Here's the part that matters if you landed here for a reason: your infra team just walked out and left a system nobody understands? A migration everyone's scared to start? A “do not touch” legacy box that's quietly the thing making the money? That's my favourite kind of problem. I'm not afraid of skeletons, weird stack decisions, or “the docs are a myth.” I go in, work out what's actually holding it up, and either stabilize it or move it—calmly, documented, without treating your old systems like garbage.

Lost your team and need someone to make sense of the mess? I'm your guy. Looking for support? ;)
